Check the Opening and the Trim
Window sizes can vary from room to room, and two windows that look alike may need different measurements. We check the width, height, depth, sill, and surrounding molding for each opening. If a window tilts in or opens on a crank, we also check that movement.
Decide How You Want to Use the Panels
Think about which windows you open for ventilation or cleaning. The shutters need room to swing or slide, and furniture or nearby walls may limit that space. Your consultant can explain how panel count, louver size, and mounting position work together.
Compare Finishes With the Existing Woodwork
Shenandoah typically uses yellow poplar and basswood. Paint can coordinate with painted trim; stain leaves the grain visible. Custom paint and stain matching are available, and we can explain what sample to provide.

Plan Specialty Shapes Separately
An arch or oval needs measurements around the curve as well as across the opening. We explain which parts of the shutter will operate and how you will reach the glass. Do not assume the same layout will work for every window in the house.
