Plantation Shutters Essex County, VA

Shenandoah Shutters Proudly Serves Essex County

Essex County is an artistic county, with a community chorus and the Tappahannock Art Gallery. There are several public and private schools in Essex County, including St. Margaret’s School, a private boarding school for girls.

Shenandoah Shutters is located in nearby Richmond, Virginia, just an hour from Tappahannock in Essex County. Shenandoah Shutters has made custom hardwood shutters in Richmond since 1990. Our hardwood plantation shutters are stylish and functional, allowing you to filter the natural Virginia sunlight in and out of your home using the louvers (slats) on your plantation shutter. The result is a warm, cozy ambiance that can’t be imitated using blinds or other window treatments.

Plantation shutters add a fitted hardwood detail to the window and give you adjustable light and privacy. With plantation shutters from Shenandoah Shutters, you don’t have to worry about adjusting the tension (there isn’t one) or any other inconveniences. Dust with a soft cloth. For marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry the surface afterward. Avoid furniture polish and cleaning agents.

Shenandoah Shutters uses only premium woods to hand craft your plantation shutters. Choose from creams, stains, or custom colors. We finish each plantation shutter with a silken lacquer finish.

Have a complicated window size or unusual window shape? We’ll measure your windows and create a plantation shutter that suits your window. We’ve even designed plantation shutters for sunbursts and sliding glass doors. Choose from a traditional design or give our original, patented Softedge design a try.
