Plantation Shutters Anne Arundel County, MD

Shenandoah Shutters Proudly Serves Anne Arundel County

Anne Arundel County in Maryland takes its name from Lady Anne Arundell, originally from an ancient family in Cornwall, England. She has important roots in Maryland, however, as the wife of the first Lord Proprietor of the Province of Maryland. True to its name, AA County has a long history. It’s the home of the first naval battle in America during the English Civil War in 1655, and the home of supporters of the Continental Army during the American Civil War. This Maryland county is embedded in our country’s history.

In Anne Arundel County, you can see all four seasons in beautiful splendor. Summers are hot, winters are cold, autumn and spring are colorful, and you just might see a white Christmas. One of the most popular things to do here is of course to visit the water at Chesapeake Bay, whether that’s going down to the shore or taking a cruise. It’s also where you can find Maryland’s capital, Annapolis, and visit the Maryland Renaissance Festival.

Between the capital, the history of Anne Arundel County, and the beautiful natural scenery, it’s no wonder that residents take pride in their homes. And a home designed with pride should include window treatments to match. There’s just something timeless about the look of plantation shutters. Even traditional plantation shutters still look stately and don’t go out of style, even amongst the most modern homes.

But you have options beyond traditional shutters. You can also opt for cafe shutters, which cover just half of the window, or our patented Softedge Shutters with their outline so subtle that the shutters seem to blend perfectly into the window when closed. When it comes to style, the choice is yours.

We build our shutters in Richmond, Virginia, using yellow poplar and basswood selected for the finish and panel design. Our white and cream shutters use yellow poplar. During your consultation, we can explain the wood options and help you compare finishes for your home.

Anne Arundel County is a proud, beautiful example of Maryland’s history and culture, and we take the same pride in our plantation shutters. Contact Shenandoah Shutters today for more information or to purchase shutters of your own.
